Aaron Fotheringham perfects the art of “Hardcore Sitting”
Written by admin2 on December 12th, 2008Filed under: Themes, Wheelchairman of the Board, Irked Videos

He was born and raised in Vegas. He’s 17 years young.
He’s been a wheelchair user since the age of three, and a fulltime wheelchair user since the age of eight.
He was born with Spina Bifida. His legs don’t work.
He’s one of a small, but growing group of elite wheelchair skateboarders. He prefers the term Hardcore Sitter, thank you very much.
He’s sponsored by Colours Wheelchairs, and a dozen other companies.
He has been shreddin skateparks for 8 years in a wheelchair. His old chair, a Colours Boing!, was lightweight and featured a four wheeled suspension that enabled him to perform the same sorts of tricks that skateboarders and BMXers can do because the suspension cushions his landings. His new Colours chair is custom-made, and “pretty much indestructible.”
His specialties are backflips & handplants.
He laughs after gnarly crashes!
He became the first person in history to perform a back flip somersault in a wheelchair. Guinness World Records was there to record it, in front of a crowd of more than 300 people.
His unofficial record is six backflips in a row. He’s currently looking for the opportunity to attempt to break his own record LIVE on television.
Meet the one-and-only Aaron Fotheringham: a rolling success, and a rising superstar who’s destined for greatness.

Hi Aaron – Absolutely fantastic! Your film is really inspiring. Wonder if there are any Hardcore Sitters in the uk?

I think it’s so cool that he can do all this stuff while he is in a wheelchair, and he can also do it better than some people who are not physically challenged.
