Watch a fascinating 20-minute documentary about American photographer Laurie Toby Edison by Kyoto, Japan-based filmmaker John Wells. Edison speaks with Rebecca Jennison about her work in conjunction with the exhibition “Meditations on the Body” at the Osaka National Museum of Art.
Laurie Toby Edison is an internationally exhibited photographer, jeweler, and sculptor.
She works collaboratively with the people she photographs. She works with them to choose the locale, the poses, and the familiar items in the photographs.
She still remembers reading Allen Ginsberg’s Howl on the subway at 14.
