Photo caption, written by Dave Roche:
Here is a historic photo from the Above and Beyond Festival in Cheltenham, England. It shows me taking out my false teeth on stage during my show. It is historic for me personally, because this was the first time I had ever done this and my mouth is the body part I most often feel ashamed of. (I am so glad I can afford teeth, even if they are ”store-bought”!) It is also historic because it’s still “ok” to make fun of people who are missing teeth (and people who drool, a practice which I indulge in occasionally—but who doesn’t drool, really?) So it was a political statement and it fit right into the show. And it worked! I could tell because the audience got totally quiet and I could almost hear them thinking, “Did he just take his teeth out?”

I would argue it’s OK for you to make fun of your drooling but it’s not OK for a person who doesn’t drool to make fun of it since it is beyond your control.
