The family of an 11-year-old girl with cerebral palsy has accused the Blackpool Transport tram company of abandoning her on a day out after they refused to carry her wheelchair back from the seafront.
Has the whole darn world gone bonkers??

Eleven-year-old Shelby Watson, who has cerebral palsy, was sent on the trip to see the lights by residents in Amlwch, Anglesea, where she lives. They wanted to thank her for raising thousands of pounds for good causes as the town’s charity princess. But her dream turned sour when she was taken to see the famous lights by a Blackpool Transport tram . . . However, she was refused permission to return the same way when a conductor said her spinal wheelchair could not be accomodated on board. The conductor said he would not allow her on the vintage tram with her wheelchair—leaving Shelby three miles from her hotel, at 9:30pm in the wind and rain. Her father Russell Watson said: “It was her dream to see the illuminations but this has broken her heart, and she blamed herself for getting us all stuck, she was in tears. We can’t believe how she was treated by the conductor and that in this day and age in one of the most popular tourism resorts in the UK they do not cater for people in wheelchairs.”

In this day and age, there is no reason for such ignorance to exist! What steps has Blackpool Transport taken to remedy the situation and to make reparations to Shelby Watson?
Is she to learn at 11 years of age that there are some large corporations who are as insensitive as their employees? I would certainly hope that Blackpool Transport steps up to the plate and does right by this young lady!
